HOW TO HIDE AN OBJECT BUT KEEP ITS SHADOW IN BLENDER
You may want to have an object "catch shadows" or cast shadows without being visible in your scene. Here's a quick Blender tip for how to disable an object from appearing in the camera without affecting its shadows. It's all done in the Ray Visibility settings in the properties editor.
