This is the second 1976 300 series Romanillos I've had the pleasure of representing and I would say, for me, this design represents Romanillos at his all time best. The 300 series are based on Torres and are a little smaller in body than the 500 series (based on Hauser) made famous by the great Julian Bream.
This particular instrument has great provenance, having been the concert guitar of Christophe Dejour. I was contacted by Mr. Dejour and agreed to represent the guitar on his behalf. Having already represented and sold another 1976 300 series example earlier in the same year, I was eager to get my hands on another.
Suffice to say, with one pluck of the strings, I was blown away. The guitar possesses the power, projection, clarity and sustain of a truly world class guitar. It also possesses the profundity, beauty of tone and incredible palette of colors of one of the greatest guitars I've ever encountered. No need to take my word for it though, thankfully we have the inspired hands of my good friend Frank Wallace to demonstrate what this guitar is capable of.
This guitar sold very quickly, faster than I could get it listed. I am putting it up here as a testament to the best of Romanillos and a very special guitar. Thankfully the new owner has become an excellent friend as well as client and I can visit from time to time!
Thank you for listening!
