Hannah Payne, 25, was found guilty in the death of 62-year-old Kenneth Herring in Clayton County, will spend the rest of her life behind bars with a chance of parole. Payne "acted like a cop" and pursued Kenneth Herring, 62, in her vehicle after witnessing him make a minor collision with a truck on May 7, 2019. Payne decided to follow his pickup truck after she saw it hit a tractor-trailer near Clark Howell Highway on May 7, despite a 911 dispatcher instructing her to stay at the scene. She cut him off and then leapt out of her car, punching Herring through his window before taking out the gun and killing him on the busy highway. Payne took the stand on Monday, insisting that she never meant for her handgun to fire a bullet, and claimed he shoot himself during a struggle for the weapon.
