During a 20-plus year career in sustainability, Duncan Pollard has jumped from the corporate world to the NGO world and back again. In that time, he has witnessed the whole spectrum from lack of awareness of sustainability, to genuine action and impact.
Duncan discusses how progress has been made within one major company, Nestlé; through campaigning, change management and stakeholder engagement.
He looks at what’s next for sustainability – how it differs from ESG; the trade-offs needed to meet differing expectations of employees, consumers, investors and society; and why companies need academia.
