Welcome back to the channel! In today's video, we’re diving into the latest news about Samsung's upcoming One UI 7 software update, based on Android 15. Excitingly, Samsung is already testing this new update, and the Galaxy S23 Ultra is getting an early look, rather than the Galaxy S24 Plus.
Here's what we know: notable leaker Tarun Vats has revealed that the Galaxy S23 Ultra is currently running One UI 7, despite many users still being on Android 14. Additionally, the Galaxy S24 Plus has recently achieved impressive Geekbench scores—2114 in single-core and 6616 in multi-core tests.
The specific Galaxy S23 Ultra model being tested is a US carrier-locked version. With Android 15 reaching stability, Samsung is now working on integrating it into their devices. We can expect the public beta for One UI 7.0 to roll out soon, initially for the Galaxy S24 series and the Galaxy Z Fold 6. After a few months of testing, the update should be available for the Galaxy S23 series.
Samsung plans to release the stable version of One UI 7.0 for high-end devices in the Galaxy S and Galaxy Z series once the Galaxy S23 Ultra has received its update. Even after this update, the Galaxy S23 Ultra will be eligible for two more major Android OS updates. Samsung has committed to providing four major Android updates and five years of security updates for the Galaxy S23 series, as well as for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5.
Samsung is also expected to announce the official release date for One UI 7.0 soon. Historically, Samsung unveils new One UI versions between October and December. We anticipate a similar timeline this year, with the Samsung Developer Conference (SDC) 2024 set for October 3, 2024, in San Jose. At this event, Samsung might showcase One UI 7.0 and begin rolling it out shortly after.
One UI 7.0, built on Android 15, is currently in internal testing at Samsung. The company plans to update over 50 Galaxy phones and tablets with this new software. With Android 15 achieving platform stability, Samsung is expected to accelerate the development of One UI 7.0. The beta release is likely to occur in the third quarter of this year, with a stable version expected in the fourth quarter.
Users with high-end Galaxy devices from the Galaxy S, Galaxy Tab, and Galaxy Z series will be among the first to receive the One UI 7.0 update, followed by mid-range and entry-level devices.
This is an exciting time for Samsung users as the One UI 7.0 update promises enhanced performance, new features, and an overall improved user experience. What are your thoughts on these upcoming updates? Share your opinions in the comments below!
