Only Fools and Horses... is a British television sitcom created and written by John Sullivan. An initial seven series were aired on BBC One in the UK between 1981 and 1991, with 16 sporadic Christmas specials aired until the show ended in 2003. The series is set in the working-class area of Peckham, south-east London, and stars David Jason as ambitious market trader Derek "Delboy" Trotter and Nicholas Lyndhurst. 's brother Rodney Trotter, and some supporting roles. The show follows the ups and downs of the Trotter family's lives, particularly their attempts to get rich. The series received critical and audience acclaim and received numerous awards, including awards from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, the National Television Awards and the Royal Television Society, as well as individual awards for Sullivan and Jason. It was named the UK's best sitcom in a 2004 BBC poll.
