A UN Commission of Inquiry has accused fighters belonging to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) of committing genocide against the Yazidi people inside Syria and Iraq.
They're also accused of crimes against humanity. More than 3200 women and children are said to be held by ISIL, also known as ISIS, many of whom are sexually enslaved and abused.
Al Jazeera's James Bays reports from the UN headquarters in New York.
