With 12,220 new cases Kerala is the worst-hit coronavirus state, contributing to the 13 per cent of the active cases in the country. India has reported 37,154 new Covid-19 cases and 724 deaths due to the infection in the last 24 hours. The other most affected states due to Covid-19 are Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.
In the last 24 hours Maharashtra has recorded 8,535 cases followed by Tamil Nadu with 2,775 new infections. The fourth and fifth to the list -- Andhra Pradesh and Odisha have recorded 2,665 and 2,282 cases respectively.
