When I was learning about Panamanian cumbia I thought it was pretty interesting. Its kinda like colombia except that the genre itself has very much folklore connotations to the point where its sometimes just called musica tipica “folk music”. The way I went about it was by taking from different sources/variants of panamanian cumbia and others same as I have with the other types of nation-based cumbias I’ve done but I did try my best to get the vibe of that music at least.
