Uric Acid is produced in our body as a result of breakdown of the Proteins.Proteins which we take from outside in the form of foods and Proteins inside our bodies which are present as our muscles ultimately are broken down to purines which gets converted into Uric Acid and body gets rid of Uric Acid through kidneys.
Uric Acid becomes high in our bodies and if we are not careful about its intake from outside then it also gets deposited in some of joints especially small joints of hands and feet including big toes as urate crystals and causes inflammation there and we start feeling pain which is called gout or gouty arthritis.
So all those people who have high level of Uric Acid in their bodies should be very careful about its exogenous intake and should limit their intake of red meat especially organ meats like live and sweetbreads etc.
Those who are concerned about their protein intake should rather use lentils,beans,green Leafy Vegetables as a good source of protein.
White meat which we get from fish and chicken etc causes less increase in our Uric Acid Level as compared to red meat.
Vitamin C also helps to lower Uric Acid in our body so eating oranges,pineapples,strawberries,pineapple & red cherries is always a good option.
In Case your Uric Acid is high and whether you have some symptoms or no symptoms at all you are strictly advised to talk to your primary doctor before you make any changes in your diet and if you need any medication to manage this issue.
