#GuguMbathaRaw of #TheMorningShow and #BlackMirror teams up with IMDb and the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) to recommend three films that inspire hope and raise awareness for refugees who have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Gugu starts with the beloved Pixar film #Up, remembering every tearful and joyful moment that makes the journey so (literally) uplifting. She then discusses the French film #Amelie starring Audrey Tautou. She finds an inspiring magic in the small, kind things Amélie does for strangers. And her third film is #BeastsoftheSouthernWild starring the history-making Best Actress Oscar nominee Quvenzhané Wallis. The movie finds strength in its young lead and reminds us of the struggles that forcibly-displaced people face. Their challenges are similar to those of the refugees currently dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.
