Simple explanation for ages 6+ of the different types of leather and how they work. This is not about the different types of tanning like vegetable or chrome or brain tanning, but just about the different grades. Note: Not all top grain leather is bad. It depends on how much of the grain (hair follicles) are still left after sanding or shaving. Some companies lightly buff the top of the full grain for effect, still leaving the scars, and some shave deep to get rid of the scars. In the beginning of this video, I accidentally called the fibers, grain. I was wrong and corrected it a minute or so later.
