Chicken Aloo Shorba is just so pure and warming, a simple and satisfying hug in a bowl. It’s pretty straightforward to make with a few basic ingredients we all probably have on hand if we cook Desi food on the regular.

Shorba refers to the gravy/soup of the curry. A good gravy is essential to get the right feel and flavour for your curry.

Aloo Chicken Shorba Recipe is a classic, comforting chicken curry and is one of those dishes a Pakistani kitchen is incomplete without. This is a versatile and forgiving dish. Use minimal ingredients and whatever spices you have access to to create this hug in a bowl

Here's how I make mine!

Aloo Chicken Shorba Recipe
Ingredients:

1 chicken on the bone cut into medium pieces
5 small potatoes peeled and cut all roughly the same size
2 medium onions diced
1 can of chopped tinned tomatoes
1/2 cup oil
1/2 Tablespoon of
Salt
Chilli powder
Turmeric
Coriander powder
Garam masala
2 bay leaves, 2 black cardamom pods and a small stick of cinnamon
1 piece each of frozen ginger & garlic
1 Tablespoon of dried fenugreek
