West Somerset Railway reopened on the 9th June 1979 and 40 years later despite with recent few years of up and downs they was still running, to celebrate that a special mixed traffic gala was held. With 3 steam, 2 diesels and one DMU ran on special timetable over 8th & 9th June 2019 including a double header steam on 14 coach train on the 8th June. However i attended the event on the 9th June.

GWR 5700 Pannier class no.7752 now repainted in gorgeous GWR livery which looks better now was visiting from the usual base at Tyseley Loco Works.
GWR 7800 Manor class no.7802 Bradley Manor visiting from Severn Valley Railway in exchange with home fleet GWR 6969 Modified Hall no.6960 Raveningham Hall which is slightly too heavy on the recent reduce weight against the track
GWR 7800 Manor class no.7828 Odney Manor - does not feature
Diesel
BR Class 37 no.D6948 (37214) visiting from Gloucestershire & Warwickshire Steam Railway with its wonderful BR Green livery
BR Class 35 Hymek no.D7017 - home based which ran on the original reopening date
BR Class 115 DMU no.W51859, W59678 & W51880 - does not feature.
