Thanks for sitting in on another session at StereoDesk. Today's focus is on the marriage between the Art Monitors from Trenner and Friedl and the Crayon CFA 1.2 integrated amp. Their harmonious combination has been filling my rather copious sized loft for a few days this week, a duty generally seen to by the Boenicke SLS2 reference powered speaker with no less than 48 inches of cone on each side. The Arts take us down to the a rather diminutive 5.5 inches per side. (by the way the ceiling is 13 ft. not 13 inches)

Some of the music may be familiar to our return listeners. It's due to those tracks being good litmus tests for a speaker. Like being able to handle a closely mic-ed grand piano that's being pounded, or a tango orchestra, or a closely mic-ed Fender Rhodes etc. Or on the trio track the differentiating between the piano strokes and and guitar lines as they play tandem runs. Most speakers fail at one or more of these. The little Arts do not. I played the Ray Charles because, it's Ray Charles and I'm still sucking air, so why not.
