Video of Augmented Japanese Navy (JMSDF) Carrier Strike centered on the converted DDH-184 Kaga with a flight wing of Japanese F-35B 5th generation stealth strike fighters, V-22 Ospreys (ASW and AEW) and CH-101 helicopters (ASW). She is an Izumo class vessel.
The Japanese announced in early 2020 that they would be purchasing between 42 and 46 F-35Bs for use on the Izumo Class carriers and converting the vessels for F-35B use. Initially they indicated the ships would receive strengthened flight decks, heat treated landing and take off areas, and a ski-jump. The Izumo is currently undergoing the initial conversion, though there is now some doubt as to whether the ski jump will b installed now or at a later date.
Two US Navy Wasp class and two US Navy America class vessels will also be upgraded to allow for a wing of 20-24 F-35Bs so that they will operate as escort carriers similar to how the Ishimu vessels will operate.
This carrier strike group includes the Kaga DDH-184, one Akizuki Class DDG, one Asahi class DDG, 1 Atago Class AEGIS DDG one Kongo class AEGIS DDG one Takamami DDG, and a Soyura class AIP SKS submarine.. It also includes one Hyuga class DDH, the Ise DDH-182, which itself is a carrier with V-22. CH-101, and SH-60J Seahawk helicopters for short to long range ASW duties.
All of them are 1:350 scale The Kaga was sold to me without an air wing and numerous sensors by Quality Models. The Akizuki and Asahi models are resin, metal, putter and photo etch models sold by Arts Technique. The Ise is sold by Fujimi, and the rest are sold by Trumpeter.
All of them are very good models and all of them include numerous after market details from Veteran MOdels, Shapeways 3D Print vendors like Dutch Naval Miniatures, SNAFU and others, and with parts I have left over from literally dozens of plastic scale, modern naval models of US and JMSDF vessels.
With the Japanese, the Koreans, the Italians, the Spanish, the British, and potentially the Australians and Indians all seeking to use the F-35B on the STVL carriers, not to mention the US Navy with its STVL carriers (4 of them) and its 11 nuclear carriers), adversaries like the Chinese have no hope of catching up or matching that level of production.
However, one last thing a very critical issue that all individuals who hold the US military and particularly the US Navy in high esteem and look to her and her allies to defend freedom on the seas, and liberty in general. Please realize the the so-called "New Green Deal" proposed by numerous leaders in the DNC will render the US military basically useless. With no fossil fuels, how will ships be fueled and operate, how will any aircraft be fueled and operate, or armor, or vehicles, bombers, fighters,...in essence all of the equipment operated at sea, on land, or in the air? The answer is that they will not...and that is one of the principle aims of these individuals...among others. Do you or any of them expect the Chinese, Russians, or any other potential enemy of the US to follow suite? If you believe so, you are deluding yourself.
Again, thank you for watching and please consider joining the channel and encouraging others to do like wise.
