Yesterday, Peacock unveiled the official trailer for its original series, "Mrs. Davis," which promises to deliver a unique and humorous take on artificial intelligence and a nun's quest to defeat it. Starring "G.L.O.W." actress Betty Giplin, the show's first four episodes will premiere on April 20, with the remaining four episodes to be released weekly thereafter.
The series centers around Sister Simone, a nun who is approached by the users of Mrs. Davis, a sentient AI with a cult-like following that reveres it as a machine-learning guru. Mrs. Davis boasts billions of followers who use earbuds to converse with the AI. While Mrs. Davis can be compared to virtual assistants like Siri, Alexa, or ChatGPT, it surpasses them in terms of knowledge and abilities.
Mrs. Davis assigns Simone with the seemingly impossible task of finding the "Holy Grail." However, Simone harbors suspicions about the AI and seeks to destroy it instead. Alongside her ex-boyfriend, Wiley, played by "What We Do in the Shadows" actor Jake McDorman, Simone sets out on her mission to take down the AI.
