Who was Kenpachi Kuruyashiki?

Kenpachi Kuruyashiki was a Shinigami who served as the captain of the 11th Division and the seventh holder of the title of Kenpachi in the Gotei 13. He was a powerful and respected warrior who fought against many enemies, including a Vasto Lorde Hollow who claimed to be a general of Baraggan Louisenbairn, the former king of Hueco Mundo. He was also a close friend of Shunsui Kyōraku, the captain of the 8th Division, and often drank sake with him and Jūshirō Ukitake, the captain of the 13th Division. He was invited to join the Royal Guard, but he declined, saying that he preferred to stay in Soul Society and face any challengers for his title. He was eventually killed by his successor, Sōya Azashiro, who became the eighth Kenpachi.

Kenpachi Kuruyashiki had a tall and muscular physique, with dark messy hair and chest hair. He wore a sleeveless captain's haori over his standard shihakushō, along with a golden necklace. He had a friendly and outgoing personality, and was loyal to his division and his friends. He was humble about his own skills, and admired the power of Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto, Kirio Hikifune, and Retsu Unohana, as well as the heads of the Kuchiki and Shihōin clans. He enjoyed fighting and drinking, but also had a sense of duty and honor.

Kenpachi Kuruyashiki's Zanpakutō was named Gagaku Kairō (雅楽回廊, Music Corridor). It had a black hilt with a golden guard shaped like a musical note. Its Shikai command was "Play" (奏でろ, kanadero). In its Shikai form, Gagaku Kairō transformed into a large golden harp that could manipulate sound waves to attack or defend. Its Bankai was also called Gagaku Kairō, but it changed its appearance to a massive golden organ that could create powerful sound blasts that could destroy anything in their path.

Kenpachi Kuruyashiki was one of the most influential and legendary figures in the history of Soul Society. He left behind a legacy of strength and courage that inspired many Shinigami to follow his footsteps. He was also one of the few people who knew the true identity of Kenpachi Zaraki, the current captain of the 11th Division and the eleventh Kenpachi.
