I was recently lucky enough to borrow an ES-175 from the guys at Gibson UK, and obviously had to record some 17th century lute music on it, before handing it back...
This is my take on John Dowland's Lachrimae Pavane. I remember battling with it during classical lessons but never really appreciated it!
My arrangement is in DADGAD: I find the G/A string interval great for scale-like phrases and there are loads of those in this piece. Tab will eventually be available...
Signal chain for those interested: ES175 - A-Design's Pacifica DI, then re-amped through a black-face Princeton RI, mic'd with an SM57 and RE20 panned hard left and right. Touch of plate reverb from a TC4K and mixed through a Neve 8816.
