Join us as we explore Marrakesh via traditional and non-traditional foods! We try everything from traditional tagines to American style MONSTER chicken burgers and more! You can learn a lot about a culture from its food. And we do until...well you'll have to watch to find out!
First, we head to a rooftop restaurant with a renowned chef and yes, Monster burgers! Chicken of course! Steven has to try it wile Elaine enjoys a quesadilla. This meal is HUGE and even 1/2 is WAY too much so we make our way through the small passage ways of the market to walk it off. We saw tapestries, woven bags, bangles, soaps and herbs, and the closer we got to the square the more people there were until it was a river of people in both directions.
When we arrived in the square there was a protest at one end although not in English so we couldn't determine what the cause was unfortunately. As the day ended all of the vendors came out as usual. They had it all! Snake charmers, drummers, fruit & juice stands, monkeys and more! It's a HUGE market with everything you could want!
As the sun set, we decided to venture out for our 1st cocktail in Marrakech at a massive Riad turned into a beautiful restaurant & bar. It was stunning! It had everything from palm trees, to a pool, colorful lights and even live Jazz music. The cocktails were a unique mix of the classics with a moroccan twist…
Then, Elaine got sick. I was feeling a bit better after a day of rest and had some juice and bread for breakfast at our Riad. And later bravely ventured out for some dinner…this is where things took another turn… and Steven got sick too.
After a couple of recovery days, we were feeling better and thought we could manage eating so we went out for dinner and a fantastic view! There were a lot of interesting choices but we opted to go with more mellow items for our recovering tummies. I ordered a virgin iced Mint mojito that was super refreshing!
We loved the decor and made a cute new kitty friend. Even though it was December 8th at 6pm it was still 72 degrees so they served us lovely ice creams that we were too scared to eat it with our traveller's tummies.
Our last day in Marrakesh and in Morocco so we went out for another beautiful view of the market and dinner. We had Italian with a Moroccan twist! That's it for Morocco, tomorrow it's on to Seville, Spain!

We have been working and traveling the world together since 2016. We have decided to "risk it all"! We quit our jobs, sold our cars and are hoping to 'live like locals' as vagabonds traveling the world. To record and share our experiences with family & friends we are creating these short videos from our travels. We hope you enjoy!
