If you buy the AMD Ryzen 7 1700 cpu, you get a cooler along with it, with a cool name like the Wraith SPIRE. Is it any good? Does is cool enough for overclocking and how about the noise? In this video I will give opinion on it.

It also comes bundled with the Ryzen 5 1600, this just doesn't include the LED lights:

I tested it against the only other cooler that I have for my Ryzen 1700, and that is an AIO, the Kraken X62 from NZXT. Now its a completely unfair comparison, the Kraken X62 is one of the most expensive coolers on the market so ofcourse it is better than this Wraith SPIRE. But it was just to give an idea of what temperatures you can expect to be getting.

The CPU was overclocked to 3.7ghz running with 1.3 volt. I couldn't get the system any higher than that with the stock cooler, so that was the settings that I used on both coolers.
I tested it with two games, where it performs pretty decent and the noise levels are ok, and then a max. CPU load in Prime 95 where it really begins to make noise and it actually didn't finish the 1 hour test because it crashed at 86c - in the video I have an average and that is just the temperature from before it crashed. So spoiler alert: Overclocking and running 100% on the CPU with this cooler is not recommended. Maybe the Ryzen 5 1600 will be a better partner for the cooler.
Note: The test was done outside a case. So again, your temperatures will probably not be the same.
Oh and sorry for my very bad Beavis impersonation :)
