Bas explains in this video what the difference is between Serial Communication and Parallel Communication. Furthermore, three different Serial Communication Protocols were introduced, namely SPI, I2C, and UART. The structures and data frames of these Serial Communication Protocols were explained. Furthermore, the differences were discussed between decoding protocols on the analog channels of an oscilloscope, a logic probe with a logic analyzer on the oscilloscope, and a logic probe with a logic analyzer on a computer. Lastly, some test signals from an STB Signal test board were decoded on a Siglent SDS1104X-E with serial protocol decoders.
