Short sound clip of a late 1970's TAMA kit.
The drums: Bass drum, floor tom and snare drum are Royalstars and the rack tom is a 12" Swingstar from the same era. In those days, Swingstar and Royalstar shared the exact same shells (7 ply mahogany, zola coated inside) and also the same lugs. The difference was that RS had more tuning lugs compared to SS (10 instead of 8 on snare drum and bass drum, 8 instead of 6 on floor tom). RS also came with more expensive hardware - the Altair series, which are small sized but double braced stands.
