1. Urine pregnancy test is the preliminary test for detecting pregnancy
2. 1st day of missed period is the ideal time to perform it with morning urine
3. If not possible, then restrict water intake, and hold urine for 3 hours, before test.
4. Keep the test kit over flat surface and collect the urine in a clean container
5. Put 2 – 3 drops of urine sample in kit well and wait for 5 minutes
6. 2 red marks = positive
7. 1 red mark = negative
8. No red mark = test is invalid
9. One prominent and one light mark can be indication of very early pregnancy, disturbed or failing pregnancy or ectopic pregnancy, needs urgent doctor consultation
