Many Europeans are facing a difficult winter in the face of soaring energy prices caused by Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
One of the worst affected countries is Germany, which relies on Russia for a large proportion of its natural gas.
It has now granted a mothballed, coal-fired power plant emergency permission to run until April.
That's raising fears that reducing dependence on Russian gas is taking priority over fighting climate change.
