We decided to hike up Snowdon, which at 1085m is the highest mountain in Wales. We took the easiest, but also the longest path up it - the Llanberis Path. It was 14.5km there and back. And I am not going to lie, it was brutal. Definitely, the hardest walk we have ever done. It gained 975m in ascent, so it went up and up for nearly 8km. There were times when I wanted to give up and just walk back down, but with regular stops and the stunning views, we just kept going. And the further we got, the harder it was, but the less I wanted to turn around. I just kept telling myself, well, I got this far, I can't turn back now!
Eventually, we made it to the top and it felt good! The views from the top were incredible! The whole day the top of Snowdon was covered in mist, but as we got closer to it, the mist parted, affording us with spectacular views! And, as we headed down from peak, the mist came in again, sealing the view off.
We were in quite a bit of pain for the next few days, but it was worth it!
