Former film and advertising manager Marcus Gondolo-Gordon (inset, right) was on his way to a skiing holiday with his wife and two young daughters when the car ferry set alight (pictured) yesterday morning. His youngest daughter, Seraphina, 5, had forgotten to take her coat when they were rushed onto deck and began suffering from hypothermia. She had to be airlifted to hospital on her own and the family were further separated when his wife Mia and eldest daughter, Phaedra, were later rescued. Mr Gondolo-Gordon was rescued this morning and they were reunited today. So far eight people have died and dozens were injured after the Norman Atlantic went up in flames. Italian officials have launched an investigation to establish whether the fire started in one of the many lorries transporting olive oil from Greece to Italy.
