Money in the Bank Ladder Match
We know this is a certainty, but we just don’t know who is competing in the match or the landscape of the SmackDown roster in general. You’ll be hearing me repeating nonstop how this is dumb to have the MITB ladder match as a brand-exclusive thing rather than a cross-branded match at SummerSlam, but I’ll spare you the diatribe for now.
As far as potential contenders go, we know John Cena, AJ Styles and Kevin Owens are all main event talent. All of them could win it, but none of them needs it. In the mix as well should definitely be Dolph Ziggler, Shinsuke Nakamura, Jinder Mahal and Baron Corbin, but if I had to venture a guess, I would say Sami Zayn has the edge right now to be the underdog who comes up victorious. Rumor has it, this is Corbin’s match to lose, but I’m going to ignore those…at least for now.
PREDICTED MATCHES (as of 4/12/2017)
WWE Championship Match: Randy Orton (c) vs. Rusev
Rusev said on the April 25th edition of SmackDown that he will only wrestle for the brand if he gets a WWE title shot at Money in the Bank. That’s FAR too specific for it not to come to fruition, as it’s a good timetable for his return from injury. I’m assuming Orton will still be the champion for that match, too.
PREDICTION: Randy Orton retains.
