Short, medium and long-term corruption trends for Cuba and other Caribbean countries are presented in this video using scores published by Transparency International in their Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) 2023 report.
The video reviews Cuba’s performance in addressing corruption in the periods 2012-2023, 2018-2023 and 2022-2023.
Cuba’s CPI score recorded a significant overall decline in 2012-2023. The country’s CPI score declined in 2012-2013 before recovering in 2014-2015 and later declining steadily during 2019-2023.
The rate of change in the country’s CPI score was worse than the rate of change in average Caribbean and global CPI scores in 2012-2023, 2018-2023 and 2022-2023.
Cuba’s CPI score continually exceeded average global CPI scores throughout 2012-2023 but rarely exceeded average Caribbean CPI scores in this period. #corruption #cuba #caribbean
