Ridden by owner Jennifer Kasper, A Cool Back Story continued to add to his amazing journey with a win at the 2022 NRHA Derby Non-Pro.
The Quarter Horse suffered a ruptured bladder at birth, and sustained severe chemical burns from the surgical scrub when veterinarians tried to fix it. Ultimately, he underwent a tube cystostomy -- a procedure normally done on goats, not horses.
His nickname? Rocky. Because he's a fighter.
