In this paper "Are Republicans Really More Prone to Conspiracy Beliefs than Democrats?: An Experimental Test of the “Conspiracy Theories are for Losers” Hypothesis" we report the results of an experiment that manipulates perceptions that one’s party is currently on the losing side in American politics and measures belief in conspiracy theories to test the hypothesis that conspiracy theories are for losers.
