In contrast to a through-hole, the blind hole thread ends at a certain depth in the component – the tap does not completely penetrate it.

However, there are a few things that can go wrong: chips jam, the cut thread does not meet the standard or, in the worst case, the tool even breaks. We will explain how you can avoid this in future – and why you must pay particular attention to the pre-drill diameter, the thread depth, the clearance angle and the material to be machined.
