Added with the 1.21 patch this book will tell you how many Gwent cards you've still to collect and narrow it down by region. It won't show you the actual location of the cards tho :'(

You can pick also this book up during the prologue by defeating the scholar in the White Orchard tavern at Gwent.

Also yes I've got a crazy amount of gold. I did not feel like wasting time farming gold!
