Behind the scenes of PRP Injection Therapy at Brampton Cosmetic Surgery Center and Medical Spa.
In the first segment 15 mL of patient blood goes into the centrifuge to spin for 4 mins. Next our Cosmetic Nurse, Jacqueline removes the blood in its separate parts. Finally she extracts the plasma into the syringe to be injected into the skin.

How PRP Therapy Works
PRP therapy uses platelets, cells found in your blood that play a pivotal role in activating your body’s natural healing processes (including cell and tissue regeneration). When platelets are isolated from other elements like red blood cells and injected into targeted areas of your skin as a serum, they work to encourage collagen production, improve blood supply, and repair imperfections at a deeper level to leave you with radiant-looking skin.
How PRP Treatments Are Done
First, a nurse will take a sample of blood from your arm exactly as your family doctor would for something like a blood test. They will then take that sample to the in-clinic centrifuge, a machine specially designed to separate platelets from red blood cells and produce a platelet-rich plasma serum. Once the serum is ready, it will be injected into your skin at numerous points using a small needle.
PRP sessions typically last about two hours from start to finish, though this will vary between clinics. At Brampton Cosmetic, the procedure takes roughly an hour but we will apply a topical anaesthetic for about 45 minutes beforehand.
