Air-cooled heat exchangers sometimes experience two-phase flow separation and flow maldistribution inside their header boxes, potentially reducing process heat transfer. HTRI is currently working on a project that is part of an ongoing effort to enhance Xace prediction capabilities. This involves testing a mock-up of the front header for the two-phase air cooler.
