She's got her back! Taylor Swift gets a warm embrace from her biggest supporter Selena Gomez as she wins big at iHeartRadio Music Awards
They were up against each other in two categories.
But Selena Gomez proved her loyal friendship to Taylor Swift at the iHeartRadio Music Awards on Sunday night.
The 23-year-old singer supported her BFF as she won big and took home the Female Artist of the Year and Album of the Year awards.
Swift, 26, took home the first award of the night at the star-studded event, which honours the best in music, and was held at the fabulous Forum in Inglewood, California.
She also won for Best Tour and Most Meme-able Moment for her 'Crazy Girl' with running mascara from her Blank Space video.
Taylor was pitted against Gomez in the coveted category and credited her girlfriends like the Hands To Myself singer for her move into pop music.
She said: 'The decision to make a pop album was not made in a conference room or by a record label. Those decisions were made in my kitchen with my girlfriends and the women in my life.'
They faced stiff competition as along with Swift and Gomez, Adele, Carrie Underwood and Meghan Trainor also received nods.
The gorgeous gal pals were also competitors for Best Fan Army, with Taylor's Swifties going up against Gomez's Selenators.
But that award went to Selena's former flame, Justin Bieber for his devoted Beliebers, as he also took home Male Artist of the Year award.
However, the Good For You hitmaker smashed the competition as she won the award for Triple Threat (Singer/Actor/Dancer).
She crushed her opponents which included Justin Timberlake, Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, Nick Jonas, Usher and Jason Derulo.
Taylor Swift And Selena Gomez Match At The iHeartRadio Music Awards
On Sunday night, Hollywood heavyweights gathered for the annual iHeartRadio Music Awards, but of course, BFFs Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez were the pair that stole the show.
The two singers stormed the red carpet separately, though we think they were in cahoots as they each arrived in skin-tight jumpsuits.
Swift dazzled in a black sequin Saint Laurent number, while Gomez looked red hot in Mugler.
But these ladies did more than just slay the sartorial game last night— both picked up awards, too. Selena scooped up the “Triple Threat Award,” for her killer singing, acting and dancing skills, and Swift won “Female Artist of the Year,” “Album of the Year,” “Best Tour,” and “Most Meme-able Moment.” Talk about a power friendship.
Congratulations! Taylor Swift won one of the most prestigious honors of the night at the 2016 iHeartRadio Music Awards: Female Artist of the Year! As if there was any doubt!
Taylor’s 1989 album continues to be one of the highest grossing albums of all time. Her world tour was the highest grossing and most attended of 2015. The spectacular show took seven months to plan and three months of music rehearsals. Despite the grueling schedule, Taylor was a complete pro at every show, and her stylish outfits were absolutely fabulous!
