On June 18, 2021, Metro Exodus was released for PS5. This update increased the frame rate to 60 FPS, and also increased the resolution to 4K (temporary, possibly 1296p - 1512p). Also improved Geometry, Level od detail, Volumetric Fog and ray-tracing. The PS5 version also uses a built-in SSD for faster download speeds and improved sound (3D Audio). It also makes full use of dualsense vibration and adaptive triggers.
The update is free for all owners of a PS4 disc or digital edition, but game save data is not transferred at this time. Instead, the developers added to the game the choice of any chapter from which to start the game.
