I've been playing Rory Gallagher's version of Out on the Western Plain for years. When I start working out how to play a cover I always have great ideas of how to make it more original sounding. But in the end, they always turn out to be friggin' rough replicas of the original.

What I love so much about Rory's version of Western Plain is that he totally transformed it into his own - Far from DADGAD Lead Belly was born!

This version is one from a band I used to play in called Lands End bluegrass band. They were an amazing band. The reel in it is called Road to Lisdoonvarna. Thank you Richie Foley for teaching us that one back in the day!
