On behalf of Yazda and the Yazidi Community, Mr. Haider Elias welcomed the participants on the occasion of the Seventh Annual Commemoration of the #YazidiGenocide. Mr. Haider Elias, Co-founder & President of Yazda Organization shared his thoughts:
“In every year, we remind the world with what happened to the Yazidi community in 2014: enslavement of women and children, mass killings, forced displacement of an entire community, and destruction of their homes, religious temples and houses of worship.”
“Today, our efforts continue to be towards advocacy for creating a safe and habitable environment for those families who are returned and those who are willing to return.”
“In the past few years, our efforts have been, and will continue to be supporting the community for returning and restarting their life and rebuilding their destroyed homes, as it is an incredible task to do.”
Speech transcripts are available in the English and Arabic languages on the Yazda website, featuring the chronic challenges and crucial actions that need to be urgently addressed and facilitated, for the return of Yazidis to Sinjar.
