Modern brain-reading technology has come a long way, but it's still crude and insensitive in relation to the dizzying complexity of the human brain. This talk gives an overview of current brain imaging technology and what it can achieve, before speculating on what future brain-reading techniques might look like, what we need to accomplish to get there, and the incredible technologies that a full understanding of the brain's coding system might enable.
