Turron (or Turrón as it is correctly spelt in Spanish) is Spanish nougat and comes in various forms. Almonds are used in many preparations, but one of the best is Turrón, that Spanish Christmas sweet that you can eat the whole year long. Discover how it is produced
Ingredients
1/2 cup of Bee Honey
1/2 cup Packet soft Sugar
1 Egg White
1 1/2 cups Roasted Almonds
1/2 cup Roasted Pistachio
Zest of 2 Lemons
1 table spoon of Vanilla
Recipe
1. Heat the honey and sugar on a very low flame, continuously stirring until pale and smooth.
2. Whip the egg white to stiff peaks and mix in quickly with the honey.
3. Stir until snowy white and you get to a thick ribbon stage.
4. Add all the other ingredients.
5. Give a good mix and immediately pour into a lined dish and leave to set at room temperature or in the fridge for several hours.
