Just a few hours ago Tesla CEO Elon Musk posted an update on FSD Beta 10’s release date and wrote "looks promising." Tesla's CEO wrote on Twitter that FSD Beta 10 would go live this week after Tesla skipped the expected release of V9.3 last week.
He actually did several Tweets on the status of Tesla's Full Self Driving software's Beta 10 release.
"FSD Beta 10 rolls out midnight Friday next week," Musk wrote. Then, he wrote, "Looks promising that Beta 10.1, about 2 weeks later, will be good enough for public opt in request button."
A Twitter user, named Toby Li, asked Elon Musk if he has any updates on the approval of FSD for Canadian users. Elon responded in the following way. "Not sure, but maybe a few months. In general, for any region, we need to make software work well, test it extensively & then get regulatory approval. If we could go faster while being safe, we would!"
Another person asked if the 10.1 Beta can be expanded to all of the early access. Elon wrote back and said "That is the aspiration, but we need to be cautious. Safety is always paramount at Tesla."
Maria Merano from Teslarati rightfully notes that with an ongoing NHTSA investigation hyper-focused on its Autopilot feature, Tesla seems to be releasing FSD updates cautiously and with an emphasis on safety.
FSD is making progress while Tesla's still admitting they have so much more to do. Tesla's FSD is very much a highly educated app and all of its progress reveals more, sometimes new, areas that require attention.
