And for a trifecta of trams and trains, let's start off south of the river along part of a long-gone railway line, we start with a Bombardier CR4000 Tram.
The Croydon Tramlink opened in the year 2000 and comprises several line re-using abandoned train lines in south London, to better connect Croydon, with one line running from Wimbledon to Beckenham Junction or Elmers End, and a much-needed connection from the New Addington suburb which reaches East Croydon before performing a clockwise loop via West Croydon.
Tram Car 2541 represents the Bombardier CR4000 class of trams, built new in 2000 for when the system opened, of which 24 were delivered to the new Tramlink depot at Therapia Lane. 23 remain in service, with one withdrawn following the tragic derailment near Sandilands in 2016
Our journey is a westerly Wimbledon one, with our journey starting at Church Street and heading to Mitcham Junction via Wandle Park, Waddon Marsh, Ampere Way, Therapia Lane & Beddington Lane. So do enjoy.
