This is our all time family recipe. I make this easy and tasty dish at least once a week. Flaky, buttery yet light spanakopita is a must make. Filled with nutritions from spinach. This easy spanakopita will compliment any meat dish that you make, roasted meats, grilled meats or pair it with a large tossed salad of your choice for a vegetarian meal.ASMR cooking videos.

❤️ Ingredients ❤️

1 large white onion, chopped
2x 10 oz frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained from any liquid
4 large eggs
10 oz feta cheese, crumbled
8 tbsp butter
1 tsp black pepper

Phyllo sheets, half package
non stick cooking spray

Melt 1 tbsp of butter and fried onions until translucent and golden brown.
In a large bowl add all ingredients including fried onions.

Place 1 sheet of phyllo dough flat on a work surface with the long end in front of you. Brush the dough lightly with butter. Place another sheet of phyllo dough on top of the first, brush it with butter. Place 3 layers total on top of each other this way, brushing each with butter.
Cut the sheets of phyllo in half lengthwise. Place 1/3 cup spinach filling on the shorter end and roll the phyllo up diagonally as if folding a flag.Then fold the triangle of phyllo over straight and then diagonally again. Continue folding first diagonally and then straight until you reach the end of the sheet. The filling should be completely enclosed.
Continue assembling phyllo layers and folding the filling until all of the filling is used.
Spray your baking sheet pan with none-stick cooking spray. Place on a sheet pan, seam sides down. Brush with melted butter, sprinkle with salt and black pepper and bake at 410 F for 30 to 35 minutes, until the phyllo is browned and crisp.
