The U.S. Senate considers S.1987, the Fort Belknap Indian Community Water Rights Settlement Act, on June 20, 2024.
The bill ratifies a water rights settlement for the Fort Belknap Indian Community, headquartered in Montana. It is the last remaining tribal water settlement in the state.
The bill was approved by unanimous consent. It can now be considered by the U.S. House of Representatives for further action.
