Our grand generation, they knew how to use vegetable peels, fish head and bones or peels, and make them so delicious to serve for a hearty lunch. Perhaps, it was a way for them to deal with the food scarcity or sometimes proverty. As we say "necessity is the mother of invention". So heres presenting you one of our Taste from waste collection- Chingri khosha bata.
Ingredients:
Prawn shells: shells of 1 kg prawn
Shredded coconut: 1/2 cup
Garlic: 4 cloves
Green chili: 2
Salt: 1 tsp
Sugar (optional): 1 tbsp (we recommend)
Nigella seeds : 1 tsp
Mustard oil: 1 tbsp
Method:
Make a paste of prawn shells, coconut, garlic and chili. Heat oil in a pan, add the nigella seeds to aromatize the oil. After few seconds add the shell paste and fry it with salt and sugar for 5 mins. Serve wit hot steamed rice.
