BEF PARES
Ingredients:
2 lbs beef flank
1 tsp.salt
1 tsp.ground blackpepper
3 tbsp.soy sauce
2pcs star anise
1 Whole red Onion (diced)
1 Thumb ginger (minced)
4 cloves garlic (minced)
1 beef cube or beef stock as substitute
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 stalks spring onion (chopped) for garnish
6 cups of water
3tbsp cooking oil
Cooking Instructions:
- Heat the oil in a pan and saute the Onion, ginger and garlic
- Put the beef, mix it until it turns brown.
- Put the soy sauce and mix it for 1 min.
- Put the water and let it boil.
- When it starts to boil, put the beef cube and star anise.
- Cover it and bring it to boil for 1.5 hours until the meat is tender.
- Add the brown sugar, salt and pepper.
- Let it simmer for 10 mins.
Beef Pares is now ready.
Best served with fried rice and calamansi with chili.
