I have my first Fortis to post. A Flieger F-39.
I don't think one can go too wrong with either available colors. And, I was originally going to go for the lovely vertically brushed midnight blue dial version. But, I ultimately chose the black dial variant. I just wanted the most no-nonsense serious tool watch vibe. Something, I imagine, that a modern jet fighter pilot might wear with him (or her) inside the cockpit.
I had been contemplating a pilot watch for a while. I like classic Flieger A and B dial designs of WW2 origin. But, I couldn't see myself committing to either one... for lack of a better term, they seem a bit too basic for me.
I think this Fortis Flieger F-39 does a great job of reinterpreting the classic Flieger elements, As well as mixing some of it's own contributions and modernizing the design for now and the foreseeable future.
