9 years ago today I lost my Dad to suicide.

It’s always hard to deal with, but this year I’ve felt at peace more than ever before.

Grief is hard.

But grieving over someone you love who made a decision to die for me is harder.

I’ve been angry.

I’ve felt unloved.

I’ve felt numb.

But this year I feel close to Dad.

I’ve forgiven him, I’ve accepted it and I’m so grateful for everything he did for me.

When it happened I was lost.

I thought suicide rarely happened.

But after I’ve spoken to so many others who felt the same way.

And just knowing that suicide is the biggest killer of men...

It made it easier to accept.

Times a healer.

I used to hate when people told me that but it’s proved true.

Dad, I miss you but Dad...
