Dietary food and the consumed nutrients are one crucial factor that contributes to an individual's mental health. Research studies also state that eating healthy food for 12 weeks helps in alleviating the symptoms of depression.
Food that help alleviate symptoms of depression :
Omega 3 Fatty acids-
Salmon, Flax seeds, Soybeans, Walnuts, Chia seeds, Mackerel, Spinach
Vitamin D-
Fleshy Fishes such as trout, tuna, mackerel, fish liver oils, mushrooms, cow's milk.
Amino Acids
Serotonin is a chemical that helps regulate anxiety, happiness, and mood. Low levels of serotonin have been associated with depression. Serotonin is made in the body and brain from an amino acid called tryptophan.
Fish such as salmon, eggs, meats, beans, legumes, grains such as buckwheat and quinoa, nuts, and seeds.
Several types of research also state that eating foods high in fiber, whole grain bread and fruits help in the regulation of mood by triggering the mood lifter neurotransmitter serotonin.
Also, there is evidence that consuming caffeine in a moderate amount may help in the reduction of depressive symptoms.
